The Carfax Tower, in the very heart of the city. Dating back to
1032, the tower once formed part of the town church and was the
meeting place for town folk, during the infamous"Town and Gown"riots.
They would march down "The High" and commence heavy fighting
with the Students and Lecturers of the University, who where waiting
in the nearby St Mary's church. Today though, these riots have long
since stopped, and Carfax Tower has survived offer you magnificent
view of this wonderful city.
